Susan Leigh - An interesting afternoon at Bolton School (http://www.boltonschool.org/) attending a Year 8 art class along with professional artist Susan Leigh (http://susanbleigh.co.uk/). We have sponsored Susan's visit to the school and she has been working with the boys and girls and their teachers, Jane Fazackerley and Laura Turner, on a project that will eventually lead to their work appearing on this year's Edwards Genesis calendar. The pupils were given the brief of finding shapes, textures and patterns in and around their homes and other buildings - so they've looked at architectural details, garden features etc - and then taking those into the classroom where they've transposed them into different patterns to be used in fabric printing. Look out for more examples of the artwork as the project progresses and for pictures of the finished projects. - 11th October 2016.
